Health Benefits of Chickweeds
This small plant grows all over the world in cool areas especially in the mountains and in the artic and it’s worth noting that they sleep—they fold up every night until dawn. It looks similar to a succulent with white flowers and has great healing qualities. Chickweeds are full of Vitamin C, B’s, D, and A… plus Flavonoids, Beta-carotene, Selenium, Zinc, Potassium, and lots of other minerals. Externally it’s great for healing wounds, eczema, and rashes, and internally it’s wonderful for helping the GI tract and curing constipation, healing gastric ulcers, and also for urinary tract inflammation and infections. It seems to be a good anti-inflammatory agent that sooths inflamed tissues and promotes healing. And it also helps heal itchy eyes, and sooth away asthma, bronchitis and other lung problems. Chickweeds can be added to your salads… and it also helps with weight loss because it’s diuretic and is a good appetite suppressant. Makes a great tea too! Enjoy!
