“There is a season for sowing and a season for reaping and they never happen at the same time” Bob Proctor
The word expectation originates from the Latin word expectationem, an awaiting. In modern times we think of expectation as a strong belief that something will happen, a belief that someone will achieve or experience something. We understand that expectation is part of the invocation process for manifesting our dreams. Many fear that their expectations will leave them disappointed. Some feel anger, shame and guilt that their expectations are coming in forms, times or places they were not expecting. What if we use expectation wisely and let go of thinking that our dreams must manifest in a certain form, time and place?
A great example is a young woman named Sandra. Sandra loves reading books, meeting new people and learning what she is passionate about. She cultivates new perspectives and gets excited about exploring new possibilities. She notices that if she practices staying connected with herself and Source her life keeps revealing the new experiences that ignite and support the next steps in her journey.
Questions we can ask; “Are we allowing the fun and enjoyment of receiving each step in manifesting our full vision?” “Are we bypassing our ability to embrace the multi levels of our consciousness?” “Are we cultivating our wisdom in how we think, feel and take action?”
Bob Proctor, well known author and speaker, reminds us that we can lessen any disappointment if we understand that “There is a season for sowing and a season for reaping and they never happen at the same time”. Our desires are much the same as the seeds we plant in the ground with a gestation and incubation time. Knowing that physical and non physical manifestation is governed by the same laws, we can learn how to tend, nurture and give our expectations attention in the same way that we would tend our seeds. Letting go into the process while taking appropriate action allows our creative power to design our lives without continuous disappointment.
In support of the creative process we can…
Life is not always the way we expect it to be, and if we keep letting go and staying connected life is better than expected!
